I was asked by a lovely friend if I could help find some scrapbook bits and bobs for her daughter. I have found quite a few kits that have a lot going on, but I will keep on searching. I know there are quirky scrapbook accessories out there that I need to explore and add to this post, so watch this space!
Here are a few of the quirky drinking glasses I have found over the last few months. As I find more, I will add them in here.
I think this golf ball spirit glass is amazing, such a fun and fab gift for a golfer in particular, although, I’m sure most spirit drinkers could appreciate this unique design.
I really like these black wine glasses, they do give me gothic, dramatic vibes, but they also ooze sophistication and class. If I hadn’t bought my iridescent rainbow wine glasses last year, I would have been tempted to get these for myself!
This wine glass is exquisite. Such beautiful artwork, other designs available, but this Poppy is the one that stood out to me. This would make a lovely gift.
Here’s a fun one, and a good way of showing your nearest and dearest what kind of day you’ve had without having to say a word!
I shared this next wine glass at Christmas, it does have a festive seen on it which is stunning, I would use it all year round though, it’s so beautiful to look at.
These cacti cocktail glasses are fabulous, they come as part of a cocktail making set, and I love them. They do give me party vibes, Summer cocktails in the garden!
I just found a listing that was oozing with classy quirkiness, and I had to create a quick post to share them with you. Do you like your coasters? Even if you’re not really that bothered, you still find them useful, I do anyway, they protect my surfaces from stains! But what if these useful things can be used as an extra piece of decor, something interesting to look at that actually has a purpose, a use? I do love my practical quirky bits and bobs! I think all of these would make excellent gifts, they’re so unique.
This was the first set that caught my eye, it’s fabulous! Who wouldn’t want a rocking chair for their coasters? I love it, I can imagine it sitting there quite comfortably on the mantelpiece!
A clever use of the shape of a tortoise’ shell with this set, perfectly designed. These make me think of Summer and holidays for some reason, cute set!
After the rocking chair, this might be my next favourite. Such a sweet little hut, a lovely little home for your coasters.
When I see apples, I automatically think of teachers! Wouldn’t this look great on a teacher’s desk? A thank you gift perhaps? It is a gorgeous design, whether it sits on a desk or next to the fruit basket in the kitchen, it’s hard not to like it!
Now this is a fancy one! I have never seen a lotus flower coaster holder before, stunning design, gorgeous shape. It’s not over the top quirky but it’s definitely unique.
This elephants set is the type of coaster set that would look perfect as part of a hamper, maybe with a couple of mugs, teabags and biscuits! Some people are obsessed with elephants so this could make a sweet gift for them.
This last one is just fabulous, what a great little boat! Amazing design, love the shape, love the ropes around the edges. I can just imagine it in a coastal property.
Just a quick showcase for you today as I wanted to show them all to you. I hope you like them as much as I do.
I love Joe Browns, it’s one of my favourite websites to browse, it’s so full of vibrance, freshness and yes quirkiness. With Summer coming, I thought I’d check out their garden range, see if anything jumped out at me as unique, and I was not disappointed!! Just imagine my delight at finding a pink peacock chair, I thought I’d hit jackpot, so beautiful, so graceful. It’s a lovely colour, really adds a touch of something special to a garden setting.
And then I found a teal version too, well my eyes lit up at this point! It might be a bit more subtle in terms of it’s colouring, but against a backdrop of vibrant blooms, I’m sure it would work a treat. It is also more in-keeping with the colours we usually associate with peacocks! I personally would like to have one of each, I don’t want to choose one or the other!!
But if you need something larger with room for two, (oh you are hopeless romantics aren’t you?!) well this peacock bench is the perfect choice for some smooching under the stars…or a couple of glasses of wine in the Summer sun, or if you’re more like me, a cup of tea!!
I’ve saved my favourite until last though, yes, it might be predictable because it’s no secret that I love butterflies an insane amount, they are just the most beautiful of things! So a butterfly chair would be fab for me. I wouldn’t usually go for a yellow bench, but I find this one quite striking, a ray of sunshine in your own back garden, perfect!
You can see now why I couldn’t just pick one of these to share with you, they deserved their own post, their own celebration. They are all so unique and so special. If you have never visited Joe Browns and you are a quirky shopper like myself, I strongly recommend you have a look around, you will love it!
January brings with it a fresh start, a new chance to be better, be happier etc, but it also brings with it an overwhelming sense of anti-climax from Christmas, a need to be better but not knowing how to go about it, and we sometimes need a little guidance. I shared this quirky wellbeing diary last week and I was asked if there were any on Amazon, so I’ve had a little look. Although I wasn’t able to find this particular journal on Amazon, I did find a fair few other. Hope this post helps.
The following are the ones I have found on Amazon, they all have their unique good points, so worth looking at the specifications of each one before making a decision, hopefully you’ll find the perfect fit for your wellbeing needs.
I found a few more on Etsy worth showing you too, they are too lovely not to share!
Hope you find the perfect journal for you. Whilst looking for these, I have come across quite a few children wellbeing journals and coping strategies so I think I’ll create another quick blog post soon focusing on the quirky wellbeing products aimed at children. Watch this space!
Dinosaurs are big business in our house, they’ve been a part of our life for as long as we’ve had our little boy (now six years old!). From babygrows to toys to bedding, dinosaurs have featured heavily. His favourite place in the whole wide world is Dinosaur Park, Tenby. A great family day out if you’re in the area!! So when I asked him to suggest my next quirky topic, I shouldn’t have been surprised that he wanted me to explore quirky dinosaurs! And he didn’t want just children’s bedroom dinosaurs featured, he wanted all things dinosaurs, an idea backed by my followers on my Facebook page 🙂
There is an abundance of dinosaurs in all shapes and sizes online, trying to pick the creme de la creme of quirky dinosaurs is not an easy task, I want to showcase them all, but I’d be here for years!!
Dinosaurs are even finding their way into our decor. People are starting to embrace quirky in their homes, and I often find that giving a plant or cactus as a gift, is soooo much better served (??) or given in a quirky pot, might as well go for a funky dinosaur! The colours on these are pretty neutral, making them a great option as they’ll fit the calm, plain styles as well as a more whimsical style of decor.
Love this ring, it says ‘I’m feisty, I’m fierce, but I’m also delicate and beautiful’ 😉 Quirky design has really moved forward over the last few years, I used to find animal shaped rings etc when I was a little girl, but they were usually cheapy plastic things, this is quality, detailed and I think it’s gorgeous.
Oh such a beautiful clock, the adorable diplodocus again, shaped with such elegance and poise, it screams, not just for children! I do have a soft spot for wooden shaped clocks, I already have a deer and a bird, they look so quirky and classy. I think this would be a good one for the munchkin’s room though, it would be good to help him learn how to tell the time!
These mugs are gorgeous, the colours, the designs, spot on! I can imagine them hot chocolate and the works in them! I love the speckled detailing, gives them a special little look, in a sea of mugs, these do stand out. I really like their faces too, they look kind.
Do people use hip flasks these days? If so, this is a gorgeous one! It’s crying out to be filled with a delicate Summer beverage as opposed to a hardcore liquor! I suppose you could carry water in it and just pretend 😉 A sweet little gift for a dino fan, kawaii are always cute and quirky so I’m always going to be drawn to this style of design.
This next one is an instant download, a papercut pattern for you to create this yourself. Are you brave enough to give it a go? There are some talented people out there who can do this sort of thing. I doubt I’d have enough patience for such a delicate task, but if you are crafty and patient, it could make a nice little project.
This is a random find, never thought I’d be showing you a trailer hitch thing but it is a t-rex, how could I not??! Fab design, the teeth are amazing, if I had a trailer, and I could get a dinosaur to attach it, I 100% would!
This dress is beeeeeautiful. I like it a lot. The colour is so pretty, and the dinosaur design is a very grown up one, they’re sophisticated. Do I dare wear a dino dress to my sister’s Summer wedding? I could be tempted 😉
This does look like a festive picture, but there’s nothing Christmassy about this design. It’s a dinosaur in the style of a tattoo on a hoodie, how cool is that? I like this colour combo, there are other colours to choose from too. I would wear this, I like it!
I got drawn to this straight away, there’s something about bright, funky colours on a dark background that always grabs my attention. The dinosaurs themselves look so good, it’s a great design, and rompers are fab for little ones, it means they can keep wearing them even when their little legs keep growing!
Dinosaur that hold wine eeeek! These are awesome!!
These sunglasses are for truly kooky people who can get away wearing such flamboyance. Not only dinosaurs. but skeleton ones, that’s got to appeal to some! I do like the colours!
This is truly adorable and looks so comfortable. I think this would make a cute little nest for the little ones (or big ones!) to nestle in and snuggle up to, comfy shape!
Oh hello tasty cookie! Could you eat this? Looks a good size, and so much detail.
What’s better than a dinosaur necklace?? A SPARKLY one! I love these, they would add a quirky snazz to any outfit!
Oooh a dino walking stick…how unusual. Perfect for those long walks around Jurassic Park perhaps!
Ooooh dinosaur paperclips, these will bring a touch of fun and playfulness to the dullest of reports and papers 😉 I do love quirky stationery!
What a cool holder, I’m always looking for somewhere to hang the munchkin’s backpack, this is a funky solution!
These are funky cookie jars, not necessarily just for cookies, good little storage jars for whatever! I think a fun one for a child’s room to be honest!
Dinosaurs may be extinct, but they are slowly taking over the world again! I honestly think that, as much as unicorns have become very much a design theme admired by so many people, I’m tipping dinosaurs as the next big trend.
I had a special request to find cheeseboards that say the words ‘Sweet dreams are made of cheese…’ I may have found a few! I think cheeseboards are fabulous Christmas gifts, great for couples, families, bulk them up with some funky cheeses and some unusual chutneys and you’ve got a very special gift to give!
I was asked to find some novelty men’s slippers as a Christmas gift, and I was actually quite surprised at how lacking the world is in unusual slippers. All I could find were generic novelty slippers that have been around for years, so this list is a little one, but these are definitely the most unusual I came across. Like I always say…why have normal when you can have quirky??? Do any of these float your big feet boat?
From now until Christmas, any special requests for my shopping skills will be added to this blog. Whether they are quirky or not, I want to help.
I have been approached by a boy Mama to help find gifts for her 3-year old boy who loves horses. It doesn’t take much research to find that most of the horse-related gifts for this age-range are geared towards girls, think My Little Pony and you get the picture. Now there is nothing wrong with giving the odd “girly” toy to a boy, this particular Mother doesn’t care about doing so and neither do I, but there is an abundance of “girly” horse toys out there, so it’s natural to want to balance out the sparkly pinks with some more boyish offerings. I may have found a few ideas. All pics in this post will have links to the items. The target age on some of these gift ideas may be higher than requested but I might as well include them, and you can decide if they are appropriate for the child you’re buying for.
As I do my daily quirky window shopping for fun things to share on my social media platforms, I come across all sorts of quirkies! A few weeks ago (months to be exact, it’s taken me so long to click publish on this post!), I found a Unicorn craft scissors, and it gained much attention. The next day, I found a funky bright pink flamingo craft scissors…again, caused a little stir in my quirky following. So I thought, let’s explore this are, see what else I can find, get my quirky crafters all excited 😉 I know I usually right a snippet with my quirky little words of waffles on my quirky finds, but apart from saying these are cool and quirky, I think I’m best leaving it to the pictures in this instance.
I hope this is enough of a selection for you, there’s something for everyone here to be honest. I do have a soft spot for the guitar! I may add to this post as I find more, I come across new ones all the time. If you have a specific theme or design in mind that you can’t find here, let me know and I’ll see if I can find them and add on.
